An Overview of the DBT Inpatient Program
The goals of the DBT program are to provide you with an outline of skills to build a life worth living. The goal is to live a mindful life which will allow you to engage in your experiences and to participate in the world in an effective manner. The skills taught are drawn from the DBT skills of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Each week focuses on teaching a specific skill set, however intrinsic to all sessions are mindful practices, as this skill is at the core of the treatment program. We recommend you practice, practice, practice your mindfulness skills!
