Dr Susil Stephen MBBS, MRCPsych, FRANZCP completed his psychiatry training in the UK and obtained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK). After obtaining MRCPsych he completed the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Aged Psychiatry.
Dr Stephen worked as a consultant psychiatrist both in Scotland and England for few years before moving to Australia. After arrival in Australia, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
He is also a Member of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Since moving to Australia in 2015, he has concentrated all of his work on the Central Coast. He continues to work as a Senior Staff Specialist Psychiatrist at Wyong Hospital.
Dr Stephen consults for a wide range of Psychiatric conditions in adults and for the elderly. He uses both Psychotherapy and Pharmacotherapeutic interventions in the treatment of his patients.
Dr Stephen’s areas of interests for patients 55 years and over include:
- Late Life Depression
- Mood and anxiety disorders
- Psychosis including organic psychosis
- Organic psychiatry
- Cognitive Impairment
- Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia
Dr Stephen has extensive clinical knowledge with excellent empathic skills and offers comprehensive patient-centred treatment and care with a bio-psycho-social approach.
