Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost?
If you currently hold Private Health Insurance, please check with your provider whether Mental Health cover is included in your current policy.
For those who need to increase their cover to include Mental Health services, the government have introduced changes to make it easier for policy holders to access mental health services and drug and alcohol treatment.
Most Private Health Insurers apply a standard 2 month waiting period for patients to access Psychiatric services if:
- You have taken out a new health insurance policy
- You have upgraded from a lower level of cover
However, there is the option of a one-time waiver to remove the wait period altogether so that you can access same day treatment without waiting if you are:
- Upgrading your cover and
- Have not previously accessed the waiver

Our Intake Coordinator will contact your Private Health provider and confirm whether there are any out of pocket costs to you, separate to your insurance excess amount.
